The Cutera® Excel V+ laser machine delivers long wavelengths that allow treatment for vascular issues for patients of all skin tones. It emits pulses of light energy that cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, thus destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body.
Our sophisticated laser machine can treat small facial veins (telangiectasia) as well as spider and reticular leg veins.
Larger veins can also be treated by our vascular surgeon with the use of sclerotherapy – a procedure in which medicine is injected into the vessels, making them shrink – or venous ablation – which uses radiofrequency or laser energy to cauterize and close abnormal veins that lead to varicose veins.
Our Excel V plus laser machine can also treat:
- Rosacea, a common skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels in the face.
- Acne scars, which result from inflamed blemishes.
- Port wine stains, reddish discolorations caused by a vascular anomaly or capillary malformation in the skin.
Many of our patients find that one or two treatments with the Excel V+ laser are sufficient for dramatic results. However, individual results vary, and depending on the number, color, and size of the vessels you need to be treated, more treatment sessions may be necessary to achieve your desired effect. Most patients find that the majority of their treated veins show significant improvement within two to six weeks of treatment.
